Please maintain, on file, the following procedures for your telephone vendors to observe when any work is to be done in the electrical and telephone closets:
- All equipment will be mounted on fire-rated wood, including shelving.
- There will be no extension cords used.
- Tenants will be responsible for the cost of power supply plugs. Plugs will be at least 7'10" from the floor.
- There will be no flammable materials (paper, books, or debris) left in closets. No smoking or eating is allowed in the closets.
- No equipment will be left on or mounted to the floor.
- Any equipment, terminal strips or lines, which are being disconnected, must be removed, not abandoned in the closet. The materials are to be removed from the closet path to the tenant's space and ceiling of the tenant's space.
- All vendors must check in with building personnel before and after work is complete. All vendors must show proper identification before receiving a key to the telephone closet.
- All work is to be completed in a workmanlike manner, according to standard practices of the telecommunications industry.
- All phone equipment is to include tenant identification.
